People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. —Joseph Campbell

Dulcimer, Ivory, Mouse

photo of dulcimer, ivory necklace, and cloth mouse

The charm of history and its enigmatic lesson consist in the fact that, from age to age, nothing changes and yet everything is completely different. — Aldous Huxley

About This Photo: I made the dulcimer from a kit in 1970 at a folk festival held at Wolf Trap Farm Park. The ivory necklace, made somewhere in Africa, was regifted to me by my mother. The mouse angel is a tree ornament I bought out of season as a consolation. Shot and enhanced with Camera + on iPhone 4S.
